I can't write a thesis right now. I know I only have X amount of days to write on all the things that I learned this semester in about 2,500 words, but I have no idea how I can let alone how to go about it. Can I be a devils advocate and bash every single concept I learned and then in the end take it back? That sounds like saying "I hate Starbucks because the logo is weird and I think only white people go there - oh wait everyone goes there and their Mocha Frappachino is delicious I guess they don't suck!" That doesn't make much sense. I can say "damn I love all I learned and here is why", but then its not very acidemic and I'm not using any real reaseach or evidence and even worse I fall into the pit of the ever dangrous descriptive essay.

Its raining outside. There are two smart looking guys outside the window of the Starbucks, wandering back and forth and smoking. In both their hands is a starbucks cup. I wonder if smoking is that much more addictive than Starbucks. They've left now, back inside. But more smokers come out to replace them, pacing back and forth, inhaleing and exhaling the thing that will take about 10 years off of their life.

I think the only thing starbucks does is take $5 away from your bank account. But its good because if I was addicted to ciggarettes I too would be pacing back and forth outside and shiviering from the cold rain while a young girl stares at me with her laptop and her starbucks. I'd be thinking "Damn, I knew I should have just stayed with coffee."

But back to this writers block. I thought I emailed my TA, but really I emailed my entire group and not my TA. I sent another email saying I was sorry but I'm scared that might piss them off even more. So I emailed my TA. His name is Marko. I've never seen him and I don't think I ever will see him. Marko is the invisible man that assists me from the otherside of nowhere.

I have to keep typing something, because I know eventually something will appear from this skull, something coherent and expressive. Maybe intellegent too. That would help, considering that this essay is our exam. Its good because its not studying but actually working with the brain with the hope and eagerness to impress your TA with something that leaves them with a crumb of some sort of knowlege. Even if its about the fact that I have issues understanding time as a concept, its still knowlege, right?

There are three people smoking outside now, all talking to eachother as they breath in deadly chemicals, and exhale toxic smoke that leads to your utter doom down the road. A lot of people argue that History is there for us to learn from mistakes and prevent them from happening, but there are people just outside that are making a mistake that could be prevented. Just like how I am making a mistake writing out my writers block instead of focusing on other things. Like my Narrative test tomorrow. People tell me Narrtative is a lazy form of Intro to Literature, but if thats the case then why on earth am I getting C's? It is just as difficult.

The smokers are leaving now. It's still raining. I still can't think of anything. Its light out depsite the clouds, yet cars and sunfire's still roar by with their lights on.

My TA replied! The man behind the curtain says I can write it however I wish, as long as I talk about the themes. Its so simple.

This course looks at a lot of concepts...

I suppose that I still have issues keeping up with this bloody blog! That isn't very bloody, actually. In fact, it is quite green and bright.

I have been going to the gym every single day this past week because I'm hoping to fit into a bikini. Maybe a yellow poka-dot one?

Anyway, the excerzing is easy, but sticking to a no pop, no juice diet is something I'm finding difficult because I'm extremly fond of sweet things. What also doesn't help is the fact that since it has been getting warmer out bugs have begun to appear... in the food. That's right - during a study session in the student centre board room there suddenly appeared the unexpected company of very large ants. Everyone was worried that the ants would get into our bags but to be honest I was more concerned about there being ants in the pub kitchen just below us. Even worse, when I went to OPH and I found fruit flies in the salad and salad dressing!

Although I have been told that protein IS essential in keeping oneself healthy.

I herd lots of good things from SXSW, including a recording of The Birds and The Bee's "Diamond Dave".

LOVE that woman's voice even more now that I've actually herd it sans any sound editing.

But now, things are slowing down and its more study than work, at least for me anyway.
But there is good news, and good TV.

First is The United States of Tara.

awesome awesome AWESOME show~! It's written by the same lady who wrote Juno. Its produced by Steven Speilburg. (Spelling?) The actors are all great, but I love Tara and her son Marshall the best. You really get to see how well they work together as actors during episode 10. Totally crazy delivery by the guy playing marshall.

Happy New Year Everyone~! <3

Gosh what a month! The winter break has zipped by and I'll be back at university this sunday if all goes well. Christmas was great and new years was awesome. Now its back to hitting the books. Damn....how was your holiday?

Next weeks radio show I'll play my top 5 favorite songs of 2008, listen in and see if you agree. I would do my worst, but 4 out of the 5 is top 40 bilboard stuff which (according to the powers that be) I can't really play. Then again...they're my top 5 hated songs of 08...why WOULD I play them?

5. Too much, Too young, Too fast- Airbourne
Technically, this song was released with their self titled CD in 2007, but wasn't seen on North American shores untill early this year. I hate this song primarily because they sound like ACDC. Chords, Rythym, Vocals...everything.

4.Bad Girl Friend- Theory of a Deadman
No reason here. I just don't like it!

3. Your Love is a Lie- Simple Plan

...And so is your talent! I don't like the vocalist's voice at all. I don't see any change or attempt at improving their sound at all. Yawn.

2. Something In Your Mouth- Nickleback
Just listening to this song makes me feel dirty... a little too dirty as a matter of fact. Sometimes, I wish they weren't canadian.

This is the worst song in 2008. For me it is, anyway.

10. All Hope is Gone- Slipknot

Overall though the best track has to be given to "Snuff".

...and the singers new mask is the scariest. I can't even look at it.

9.Lioness- (Self-titled).

Awesome. Its only 4 tracks but they are 4 tracks of awesome. Her vocals are powerful without having to resort to screaming. Don't ask me what that means. Just accept it.

8.Oh my heart- mother mother

Burning pile is one of the best tracks I've herd this year. I love it. Its groovy. This whole album is groovy. That's why its number

7.Between the lines- St.Alvia

I just LIKE it, I have no real reason.

3. Dir en grey- Uroboros

The first shock I had to get over with this album was that, for them, this is soft. They've had soft tracks like "Aint afraid to die" before, but overall this album was not as heavy as withering to death.

Having said that, this album is brilliantly produced. Layers upon layers of incredible sound. You will not listen to the same song the same way twice.

2.Split- Thursday/Envy.

Get this album. There are no words to express the awesomeness of this album. Get it nnnnnnow!

1.The Slip- nine inch nails

I've just recently started to really like Trent Renzor's work. Every song was incredibly well done, I don't have any complaints about it what so ever. Because of that it's my numero uno on this list.

Looking forward to the new music next year! Especially if Ramsntien finishes recording, I bet it'll be out some time in '09.

Matthew Good posted a link on his blog to an article on BBC that states that in the UK sex is the cheapest activity done by most couples over gossiping, window shopping and visiting museums. (they're free over there. Lucky ducks. If the science center was free I'd be there every day :) )

I thought it was funny so I thought I should post it and be totally hip and happenin'. Never mind the fact that most of the details of the study is left out. Note the generalizations that men constantly think of sex and women love to gossip are left in.

ok.

I hate the books, always will.

But I decided to see the movie twilight. I was like "ok twilight. I'll forget your slightly mysogionist messages and give you a chance"

(This was the same tatic I used when I had my first beer, if anyone cares.)

It actually wasn't that bad.

For a teen movie.

It kind of reminded me of the lost boys.

I DO have to give a thumbs up to the lighting. Were it not for the lighting that was used I don't think it would have been recevied so well. And for giving my boyfriend and I two new inside jokes (like we need anymore ;) )

AND for who I thought was the spawn of Keanu Reeves....

She is, still, the spawn of keanu reeves.

BUT she was able to bring that Mary-sue character down to a more humane level. She did well with what she had.

Now, for what I didn't like.

1.The camera kept changing its shot every couple of seconds. There was so much going on, especially during scenes where I found the script to be a little weak.

2. A bit of a plot hole, but not a huge one.

3. The glistening shit is just...no. It looked terrible. Just...no.

Other then that it was...meh. I don't think there could be any way to improve it I think.

It's a better alternative to High School Musical 3.

Am I going to read the books? Naw. I think the movies are just a tad better than terribly written 1st person narritive, kthx.

Hello~

Yesterday, I saw hancock with my family. It was awesome, totally not what I expected either. I was so sad~ T_T

I liked most of the characters, the soundtrack was used very well... However, I didn't like the girl (Charlize Theron I think her name is). No real reason other than I couldn't believe her. Overall the film was a great relief from other superhero films. The very powerful guy was also very human.

I keep debating over wether or not to see Twilight. I hate the story, dislike the main character, and yet I hear nothing but good things about the movie itself. But from what I see from the trailer the main character looks like the female spawn of Keanu Reeves- she has no emotion on her face.

Speaking of the devil, He's going to be the alien in The Day the Earth Stood Still. But I think I have to see the original. We should have it; my uncle's a movie fanatic.

What else was I going to say? oh. I kept seeing this "We got Married" show being posted on youtube so I looked. At first I thought it was about these newlywed couples- but really its all a show of make believe! "What if this singer and this singer got together?" Sort of thing (or at least what I got from wikipedia). Kinda odd if you ask me. Give it a look, its crazy!

Ok I lied. Our student union is still worse.

I was on the phone with my parental unit, and I mentioned what had happened at Carlton University. She told me that I was stupid to believe in everything I read because, in fact, the "white people only have CF" thing was written by one jerk who was in charge of composing a memorandum for the student union meeting. They found this information through Google and assumed it to be true and added it to one of the many other, sensible reasons as to why they have to stop funding a certain charity.

So in short, that guy ruined it for everybody and since they can't edit the memorandum, they now have to go back to funding the CF charity.

"You can't believe everything that you read," she said. There have been things in news articles written that weren't true at all and even if you write to the editor, with evidence and everything, they will ignore you and continue on.

So I apologize to Carlton University.* You guys are still cool. Cool? Cool.

All newspapers spew out this misinformation when you think about it. How do you choose? How do you know what is true?

Well, I wish I could figure it out, but the only truth for me is that I have to get through first year university.

I'm probably not the only one in this university that has something to say about our student union. As bad as they are, they're always something worse. This is one of those things.

the Carleton University student union's decision to quit its Shinerama fundraiser because cystic fibrosis affects mainly white people is stupid and unfair, says CF sufferer Kelsey Lett.

Lett, 18, who has spent most of her life in hospital, says the disease doesn't discriminate.

"I know white girls who have it. I know black guys who have it," she said yesterday.

At a meeting Monday night, Carleton University Students Association councillors voted 22-2 in favour of quitting their long-standing fundraiser and sponsoring another charity.

They supported a motion to stop Shinerama because, as the motion stated, they want fundraising to be "inclusive as possible," and "CF has recently been revealed to affect white people and primarily men."

The decision was based on misinformation, says the head of the Canadian CF Foundation.

"It's the most common, fatal, genetic disease affecting young people in this country," Cathleen Morrison said.

"Hopefully people are making decisions based on information that is correct."

AAAAANNNnnnd youtube live sucked. The only aweosme thing was MythBusters using their massive paint ball gun. O_O

My bf and I hung out at the mall over the weekend. We almost went and saw Twilight, just because, but the only theatre that was playing it nearby was the massive IMAX, which would cost wayyy too damn much. So we bought Russel Peters' new DVD instead (which was much cheaper than going to the movies PLUS it was much more entertaining than what ever twilight might have been.)

Last week I wasn't able to do any album reviews, so hopefully this week I'll be able to do some. <3

Gaia's new MMO is worth a look. The game play is simple, but the music is extremely well done. And I swear to god that some of the sound effects were ripped off of WOW...maybe that' s just me though.

I only played WOW for about 3 days out of the 10 that was given as a free trial. I didn't like it because for one thing it was toooo fantasy for me. The ones that are so foreign that you really can't relate to it at all.

I like my video games like I like my books: With a good story line that keeps you on your toes. WOW is too big for me.

Totally being a lab rat today~. I don't get paid for it, but I do get about 2 credits out of the 4. Usually you only get 1. I'm not going into grave detail about what it is because I don't want to influence any results or bias or anything. But it does involve cartoons. =D

Dans seulement moins de 12 heurs, le campus est couvert avec la neige. Il est passionnante pour voir blanche neige avant noël ! Il a été 23 heurs a nuit et Il y a été les étudiant jouaient dans le neige....

(I was supposed to have a shot here of the snow, but the picture that I thought looked decent looked terrible. All you see is the shadow of the freaking building. By now its actually melting away, even though its like -5 outside.)

It was pretty crazy.

First, no show tomorrow- I have a lab at 3pm and I probably won't get out of there till after 5pm. So I cancelled it. Booooo

There was a crazy guy doing that whole FREE HUGS gig where you have someone record you holding a FREE HUGS sign and watch everyone around you pass by. Also, there were many people falsely dressed up as if they decided to walk around downtown brampton at 2 in the morning and didn't think they'd get beat up.

When I asked them, they only said "this is what happens when you drive drunk"

Wednsday, I attended a rally of over 5000 students at queens park. it was insane, but it wasn't the biggest- When I was 13 my cousins, my aunt and myself went to protest against the Iraq war where 80,000 people showed up in Toronto alone.

But man, once we got up to bloor and you hear a distant rush of shouting and screaming from Ryerson and York.... It gave me chills.

Apperently Jack layton was there.

I don't remember seeing him.

Well, I'm glad we didn't riot because THAT would suck.

However, because of the day of Action i missed my psych lab.... there's one happening today, I'm going to see if I can invite myself. Because if I dont get into this one... I might have to cancel my radio show next week. Sorry, school comes first.

On the show tonight I'm going to play some LIONESS. Bascically, its the members of controller controller with a better singer.

After listening to these guys I had to reconcider how I felt about distortion... maybe because it reminds me of bad songs in music and computers...ha. God I miss that class. T_T

On a side note, 81% on my first Psych test and the first test in university. F*ck yeah!

Morning guys.

Radio show was awesome last night. I had a conversation with the people standing outside of the glass window. They were all heading to screamers in Niagara Falls, which is sort of like a horror theme park. Some people were dressed up, some one was dressed up as Barack Obama. You can totally tell my ADD was bad last night. ha ha

Ok I don't have ADD. But everyone that knows me tells me I have a tendency to be easily distracted by things, not to mention amused by them.

But the REAL reason was that I got to play Thursday's new split CD with Envy that's coming out later this week. I know its a little late to be telling you guys that since the show is kind of over now. I think its the best CD that I've reviewed so far. I knew the Japanese are known for their metal, but post-hardcore rock? Envy, from Tokyo, does it and does it well.

So if you ever see it anywhere....GET IT.

I also stumbled on some good music... I always end up playing a CD I don't choose a head of time thats sitting there beside the mac. I forget the term for it, but they're new CDs that they play constantly to promote....heavy cycle I think they're called? CDs that are on heavy cycle?

Anyway, I played The Creepshow and they were pretty decent. (and Canadian! Always a bonus.)

One more thing that I wanted to tell you. There's a movie coming about about a young sensitive kid who during hard times meets a vampire and they fall in love. But this throws them into danger.

....who the heck said I was talking about twilight? This makes twilight look like a the crappy story it is. I hate twilight. No. I'm talking about let the right one in.

My boyfirend and I went to pladium. It wasn't as exspensive as i thought- 2 hour unlimited gameplay is about the same total cost if we went to a movie and both got popcorn + Drinks.

Anyway we spent a lot of time playing this one game called Time Crisis 4.

Le Chavlier D'Eon (D'Eon the knight) is an anime set during the reign of Louis XV (Who's not as smart as the 14th or as dumb as the 16th...) I only saw the first couple of episodes a while back, and it was pretty weird; When D'Eon finds the sword, it looks like he becomes a woman and fights off the bad guys. This is based on the actual Le Chavlier D'Eon, who lived his first part of his life a man, and the other half a woman. (or was it the other way around?) He/She also worked for the king's secret service, le secret du Roi (the secret of the king. How origional eh?)

I think that's about as acurate as it gets to 1700's france. =3

I just wanted to bring that up because I didn't know about it. French history is amusing. XD;;

NEW LAYOUT

School’s been busy, so I thought I might hang up a new layout.

I don’t think its really that me, but I think it’s a lot softer on the eyes than the last one. Also, I’m starting to make sense of HTML a bit, remembering the few bits and pecies I learned in Grade 7.

For some reason, the comments have been disabled on the page. But I do love the fact that this is now protected, at least so much that the text or images can’t be copied. (and I replaced the privacy protected icon with Ed getting a pocket watch thrown at him. xD)

There was a fire drill today, around 8:30. I thought it was real and just got out of there with my wallet and cellphone and didn’t even lock my door to find out when I got outside it was a drill. Sigh.

Ok I know its late but I was thinking: Why the heck is politics so boring? In Canada, I mean. Nobody starts fights, gives the finger in the house of commons or does a piroette behind the queen. No one is landing in helecopters. No one is speaking while clenching a ciggerette in their hands. All of them are talking from both sides of their mouth.

What is this? What happened? I'm not saying that I have to be entertained. What I'm trying to say is that Canada has a lot of character. That's why I like it. And I don't see much heart in it as there once was.

It's all buissness buissness buissness when half of the prime ministers you learn about in high school were known what they did for the people.

Anyways I think I'm going to stop asking questions for now. I might regret posting this. Ah well.

Saw the Love Guru finally with boyfriend- It was funny but not myers best. (What happened to Waynes World? WHAT HAPPENED? WHY?!) I think the best part besides Justin Timberlake with a bad qubecuois accent (" WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY OUSE?!") is the aconyms.

What's kind of sad about the campus I'm at is that their student life is DEAD during the weekend, making tons of students in rez go home for the weekend and those not going home bored to tears.

Except when you have your boyfriend over for the day then its not boring. You find things to talk about and do, even if its just walking around the place a hundred times. As for him... well I can write a hundred love poems to discribe him and not even come close to describing anything other than how wonderful he is. I wish he could've come with me to frosh week though, he would have loved every minute of it.

Another week lies ahead...I guess I better go to bed now...

I hung out with a couple of people from CFRE today, though it was only for an hour because they started early. Maybe after I sent a reply to the email regarding it they were like OH SHIT SHE'S COMMING AT ONE FINISH AT ONE FINISH AT ONE

I'm kidding. I don't think they hate me that much. At least I hope they don't because that would just be tremendously bad for my self esteem. But it was good times. Lots of metal music and hearing about bands I've never heard of before. A bunch of shows are starting up next week and I should be sitting in on one or two of them that are during the day. I don't know when I'll be going on air.

For french we had to talk to each other in the little french we knew and try tell eachother our good and bad traits.

MAIS- J'ai triché dans mon devoirs. J'ai seulement demandé les garcons parce que leurs adjectifs sont plus facile conjuguer.... hee hee hee.

Last night was Pub Night. I didn't go. I'm sure I didn't miss a great deal. =P

What the last two weeks have been.

The move in day was really tough for me. Even though I'm not far away, I felt that from that day onward things were not going to be as they used to. Like shinji using the evengalion the first time.

The Rez orientation was pretty much FAIL in compartison to frosh week. The only good part was the luau because there was a huge group of people playing piggy in the middle. The rest of it was playing people-bingo and going to presentations about "Safer" sex and "Safer" Alcohol usage.

And it's not STD's anymore, it's STI's. Everythings changing so fast!

What I'll remember more than anything in that presentation is how they tried to tell us not to do it. In high school, they would just tell you not to do it because you'll get cancer/disease and die.

This time around, it was "Hey, we like to drink!...but look! 55% of people who drink suffer HANGOVERS! Which affects their studying!" or "Sex is great but look! the pill has an 8% failure rate! The morning after pill has a 70% failure rate!!!"

Ok. That last one totally appalled me. I don't know if I misherd it, I'm hoping I did, because that's complete BS. I'm a very close friend with someone who works with approving Drugs, and they helped approve plan B. Would it have such a high failure rate it would not be allowed in canada. Unless he was talking about taking it at the last possible time to take it (3 days).

It could also have to do with the fact that before that presentation I registered for frosh week. It is like a universe that appears only once a year and only for a week and then it's gone.

Just imagine waiting in line, and a whole group of leaders appear and one of them screams "WHAT DO YOU THINK OF HIGH SCHOOL?"

"FUCK HIGH SCHOOL!!!" and they all stick out their middle fingers into the heavens.

Well, I guess I'm not learning the secret science dance.

Suddenly one of them turns to me and shouts "YOU! FROSHIE!!!"

"WHAT DO YOU THINK OF HIGH SCHOOL?"

"....FUCK HIGH SCHOOL!!!"

That's right. FUCK high school. Saying that was like listening to the beatles for the first time. And then they pulled me out of the line to try and get everyone else excited. To very little avail though ; this was a huge shock to us. Here us residence kids thinking we're going to be sitting in circles playing name games and singing kum-by-yas and now we're learning to flip the bird at eachother.

But the strangest part was that no one took offence to it. It was all in good fun. But I felt bad for some of the people who were celebrating Ramadan. From what I saw some didn't want to swear or say those kinds of things and for the most part were humming it or mouthing the words. But there was a line that I had to draw. Our group leader wanted to name our group 2 girls 1 cup.

"You can be funny without all the sexual innuendos." I said.

"Ok. What do you sudgest?"

"Well something not as gross?"

"Double-penitration it is, then."

I guess at that point I just had it and left. I ended joining group 5. 5 Alive was the best group ever and by the end of the week contained about 50 people.

That week I met so many people that it canceled out and I didn't meet any. But I see faces I recognize, and I think that was what frosh week is for.

Once frosh week was over, the world changed again. This place is its own bustling society and if you focus too much within it you forget the world outside: I didn't read the news untill just last night. We're in an election campaign right now. The giant halo thing in europe successfuly made a tiny big bang.

I had to switch some classes around. Here's what I'm taking:

Narritve, Socio-lingustic Anthropolgy, Psychology, Cinema Studies (2nd year course) and French.

Anyways I'm off to study. Yes, study. or attempt to.

Getting it done

I've started packing all my good clothes. The next day where I have a considerable amount of time I'll start packing my things. I also got a new laptop bag using the gift card I got for my birthday many, many months ago. Originally it was meant for Wii Fit, but I gave up asking Best Buy for it.

It has my ultra-cute Olympic winter games mascot. Once the winter Olympics is over and all the merch goes on sale, I'm grabbing the plush of this fella.

Went to UTM for the podcast meeting. We were spoiled the surprise of the secret event- I wont tell you what it is, but I will tell you that no, it is not a concert.

But the place looks awesome. And the ideas sound cool enough. :) There's some great people there. Most of them are first years like me.

Girl Talk

First, completely ignore this section of this entry if you are male. I'm going to talk about strange, terrible things.

I have this certain bodily malfunction (I don't want to use the word "condition" because really its nothing bad...just more of an inconvenient truth. ) and because of it I had to pay a visit to the Ultrasound again- No, I'm not pregnant. Its awkward enough for me to write this but, world- don't automatically think that if a young girl is walking into an ultrasound clinic its because she's pregnant. She's nervous as it is, and really, really has to pee.

but my whole reason to writing this is not the experience per say, but the technician that did it. She was very blunt and disgusted at the fact that I was there in the first place. Like she should be doing tests on more mature/older/whatever kind of women and not a skittish, pant-less young adult. And then, when I turn to look at what she's taking pictures of, she turns the monitor away from me. As if "no, you cant look inside your own body. Sorry. I can, but you can't."

Maybe she thought I had no dignity, and assumed from the get-go that I was some sort of hussy.

Adults, these days. They don't raise them with enough openness.

One of my family's cats, Tigger, had to be put down yesterday. I was pretty sad and freaked out about it, because she looked quite ill when I woke up yesterday morning. Then I was pretty much doleful the whole day until someone told me "well, duh, she was really old. She only had a couple months, didn't she?"

Which, I guess, makes sense. Logically speaking.

...but logic always seems to fail me.

She was a happy cat, even though she always had this look of distain on her face.

In brighter news, I'm currently in combat with someone over who should be supreme overlord of the campus apartment complex. I think she's totally gonna kick my ass on this one.

Someone called a RezPal called my house during dinner yesterday. She sounded nervous. Maybe she didn't like calling people? Maybe she thought I would assume she was a telemarketer? Or maybe she was mad because I didn't have any questions about residence at the moment, because right then the only question I had was why my fish was so cold, and how long it had been cold for.

Off to work for me.

Oh well.

In the end my boyfriend and I didn't go to the zoo. Something about the highway being dangerous or such nonsense. Instead we hung out at my place, watched a couple of episodes of Nanaka 6/17 and killed time at the mall. Which has a really good korean bbq place. Honestly I didn't know the mall offered good food (other than the thai place.)

It worked out I suppose, since it did rain. And we still had a good time. I think we could go anywhere and manage to have a good time. Except maybe at a dentist's office.

But the mall, in order to gain complete consumer dependance from me, must have a Hot Topic. I like a lot of their clothing, more than any other place up here. They fit me a lot better and I don't feel preppy.

Rain won't leave.

Work has been okay. The weather is sort of to blame and I think that wonderland is going to surely loose a lot of money because of it. I like it when its busy because the time literally disappears and I don't make as much mistakes (or at least they aren't that noticeable)

By the way there's a guy at warehouse that totally looks like Brad Pitt. Go and see.

In university news, I'm going into a new school knowing absolutely no one, and my floor is part of the Loon team. There are other teams such as:

Orcas

Foxes

Grizzlies

Herons

Polar Bears

(and I don't know the other one.)

So I guess they're all canadian animals. No wolves, deer or moose though.

Anyways, since my floor is a smaller floor it is the same team as the floor below us. So I was thinking we should have our own, non-existent animal. Like a shorilla- A shark and a Gorilla. It'd be awesome.

I've posted the idea on facebook. Maybe other 6th floor people will agree with me. Or they might think I'm too weird. Which is fine, I get that a lot.

I prefer to be weird than dead.

Work.

work is work, really. It's hard work. Cutting fruit and flinging half-filled bags of garbage into a pungent smelling dumpster. Sliding trays of prepared foods that you've never tasted out of the steamers, and then insert them into piping hot steam wells in the buffet line. (which can be tricky, I've burned myself a couple times) Answering that, no, there is no meat in the vegtable lasagna and that, yes, those potatoes are real but they are not fit to eat, they are for decoration only.

Sometimes you wonder if this is worth $8.75/hour.

And then, if you're a history geek like me, you remember the scuffles families went through during the industrial revolution and keep spray washing the grill pans.

It's hard to say how long I'll be doing this for, but it seems like I'll be quitting soon; once September hits it takes a lot longer to get to Wonderland. It may not be worth the effort. Though its unfortunate because I learned everything so quickly. Except the timing of the steamers, I'm bad with that.

I love lamp.

When my aunt herd I'd be living in a small room apartment, she said "well, you'll need a lamp."

I immediately suggested IKEA. Which is one of, if not the- best store ever. Who knows what kind of goodies they might have to making my dorm look more home like~ I already saw a lamp that I really like that's only about $20...

Also, I'm on the lookout for cheap, white sticky tack because its the only thing that they will allow on the walls to hold up posters. Does anyone know where I can find some?

Thursday

My boyfriend and I are heading out to the zoo, despite the fact that it's likely to rain. Maybe the animals will be up and about because of it. Or maybe they're going to be smart and just laze under trees instead and wonder why people still come out to stare at them.

There will be gorillas. There will be beavertails. And milkshakes.

Another low move by PETA

What I did want to talk about though was this discusting, low move that PETA made not too long after the events of a phsychotic man violently kills the man beside him on a greyhound bus. They posted this ad in the Manitoba paper:

First of all, to not only accuse the other people on the bus of ignoring the man's struggles but to also compare his death to that of a chicken in a slaughterhouse is downright heartless.

Please don't take this as me being against vegitarianism. There are tons of benifts of being one, including enviromental. However this organization seems to care more about animals than they do about people.

Something ironic that I remember from high school is when I joined a human rights club, there were about 10 of us. However, there were over 40 people in the animal rights club. Which got me thinking:

how could you support the rights of a fish over a man in a totalitarian goverement who can't even speak against it, let alone for the rights of that same fish? Or even the people who can't follow their religion which might say to respect animals?

Thousands of animals are killed for food, but millions of people die from lack there of.

Why I think it sucks:

1. Teenage angst. Harry Potter had a better grasp of the teenage brain.

2. Really plain discriptions. "I see this. I feel this. So and so is sexy."

3. Vampires do not glisten. They are not greek gods. They are accursed mortals to forever drink blood and live in the night. THAT, is sexy.

4. In the Fan-Fiction community, there's something discribed as a Mary-sue. A mary sue is a fiction where the main character is usually a reflection of the writer, where nothing bad happens to them ( or if it does, they become more special or they fall in love with a different character) and usually are very goody goody or opposite. Again, its all in the perception of what the writer preseves themselves.

Bella= Mary sue.

- Who the hell does homework to EASE THEIR MIND?! At 13?

- 3 words: Little. Miss. Perfect.

-Why is she strong when ed isn't around, but weak when he is? Isn't this a little...Mysogonist?

- Did I mention inexplicable angst? I think I did.

I'm working at wonderland now, becuase I wasn't getting enough hour's at Purdy's. The manager understood and moved me to seasonal, so I won't be back there till Chrismas time.

The department training at wonderland was... interesting to say the least. What's even more interesting stroke of bad (or good) luck is that I'm working at the same place I did last year but this time as a cook instead of a hostess. I think they all need to do cash training which is why I'm in food production as opposed to being a busser or hostess again this year.

I'm a little nervous around hot stoves or ovens, so I think this might be good for me. Hopefully the managers aren't as...erm... lively in comparison to the supervisor we had for training.

My boyfriend gave me the first two volumes of Battle Royal and my only thought on it is that it makes Lord of the Flies look like a Preschooler's fairy tale. It's exsessively violent and definatly not recomended to anybody that can't take the gore. I was hoping the book would be different, but Stuart warned me its just as bad.
I saw the first episode of Xam'd: Lost memories. I think it looks great! I don't want to spoil anything about it because you just have to give it a look-see. Otherwise if I try to explain it here you'll get very confused. Go watch it! =D

Hello, and welcome to my blog.

Ok, that's pretty dry and humdrum. But I feel like I should say that nonetheless. Hello, and thank you for wasting your time with me. Thank you for reading this small, insignificant little page in the universe. It makes me feel all warm and tingly inside.

I wanted to start one for a while, but initially I knew I was pretty careless with my words. Plus, I didn't have much to say that hasn't already been said somewhere else.

Enough excuses.

Let's get down to it- I think a lot of us will miss each other in high school. We'll drive away to live in thin walled town houses or apartments to not only seek education, but also find new friends, loves, experiences and possibly an empty wallet. Not that I'm complaining here. To be really flat out honest I'm glad high school is over and I'm looking forward to having the first hands on experience of being on my own, even if I'm only a short GO bus ride away from home. And, more importantly, learn something. Why else would I be going if I didn't want to learn?

However I'm also very nervous because it will be a largely extended summer camp with more work than swim time. Even more so I'm concerned about how I'll get along with my roommates. With UTM, you don't choose whether you live in the Townhouse or in the apartments. So its either one person you will have to sort-of know or three other people you have to cook, sleep, and co-exist with. And in both situations they are people that you've never met.

So then why is this here? The Internet is not your therapist.

What's the buzz?/Tell me what's happening

Well, there hasn't been much preparation. My aunt (also known as Auntie, mum, Auntie mum, mummy, and parental unit #01) got me some bed sheets that are very blue and very old fashioned looking. I think they have Fleur-de-lys on them. Then again I think I could be making this up.

Well, they remind me of Fleur-de-lys, which will forever remind me of the french revolution thanks to my history teacher. The French Revolution...where crazy french people were chopping off the heads of the nobles while creating a 'nation of virtue'. Hilarious!
